It’s not fake difficulty it’s just a frustrating mechanism that works well enough to pass but still is completely smoothed out
That’s a lot of things with Okami feels like - like, this game was pretty ahead of it’s time with all these ideas and actions and that sometimes becomes kinda frustrating.
The brush controls would’ve been way more suited to the Wii (hence why the wii version was inevitable)
Also some of the aesthetic things that make the game so beautiful are also part of what’s aggravating about it - like the way it shades everything in like black brush strokes when everything gets too dark or you’re in an area full of shadows it can obscure the view in some places and get frustrating in ways it wasn’t to be.
Idk I just take most of it as really good ideas that if it was made for the next gen it’d probably be a much smoother experience. It was one of the last big games for the PS2
